Wedge Salad with Buttermilk Blue Cheese Dressing

  • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup Crystal sour cream
  • ¼ cup Crystal buttermilk
  • 2½ tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chives, roughly chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • ½ cup crumbled blue cheese


  • ½ cup cherry tomatoes
  • ½ tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste


  • 1 medium head iceberg lettuce, sliced into 4 wedges
  • 4 slices of cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1 avocado, diced

  • Step 1

    Prepare the buttermilk blue cheese dressing:
    In a medium sized bowl, add all dressing ingredients and stir to combine. Refrigerate the dressing while you prepare the salad ingredients.

  • Step 2

    Roast the tomatoes:
    Heat the oven to 400 °F. Place the tomatoes on a sheet pan, drizzle over the olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Roast until the tomatoes collapse, about 10 minutes. Set aside.
  • Step 3

    Assemble the salad:
    Divide lettuce wedges amongst four plates, add tomatoes, crumbled bacon, and avocado. Drizzle with buttermilk blue cheese dressing. Garnish with more chives.
