Sugar Skull Butter Cookies
Celebrate Día de los Muertos with these vibrant and buttery Sugar Skull Cookies—a fun and meaningful treat the whole family can enjoy.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Crystal unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2–3 tablespoons Crystal Whole Milk
- Icing in various colors
- Edible glitter, sprinkles, or colored icing(for decorating)

Directions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350°F.

In a large bowl, cream together Crystal Creamery Butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Gradually add flour, mixing until dough forms. Add milk, one tablespoon at a time until dough is smooth and easy to roll.

Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to about ¼ inch thick.

Use sugar skull cookie cutters to cut shapes and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are just golden. Cool completely.

Decorate with colorful icing, sprinkles, and edible glitter to mimic traditional calaveras.

Display on a festive platter with marigolds for an altar-ready presentation.
