Norwegian Inspired Waffles

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Crystal sour cream
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 stick Crystal unsalted butter, melted
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • Non-stick cooking spray or melted butter for cooking

  • Your favorite jam

  • Step 1

    In a large mixing bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.
  • Step 2

    Mix in flour, baking powder, and salt until thoroughly combined.
  • Step 3

    Add in sour cream and melted butter until mixture is smooth. Let mixture rest for 20 minutes before making the waffles.
  • Step 4

    Heat the waffle iron and spray with non-stick cooking spray or coat with butter. 
  • Step 5

    Pour ¼ cup of the batter onto the waffle iron, close, and cook until golden brown.
  • Step 6

    Top the waffles with sour cream and your favorite jam.

    Norwegian waffles are usually made with a heart-shaped waffle iron, but if you don’t have one, a traditional waffle iron works just as well.
