Ingredients

Cookies

  • 3½ cups flour, all purpose
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Crystal unsalted butter, softened
  • 8oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Festive sprinkles
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon or cardamom (optional)

Glaze

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Products used

  • Unsalted Butter

Directions

  • Step 1

    Preheat oven to 350 °F.
  • Step 2

Combine flour, baking powder, and salt and set aside.

  • Step 3

Add butter and cream cheese to a large bowl and mix with a hand mixer or stand mixer until combined.

  • Step 4

Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and mix well.

  • Step 5

Fold flour mixture into wet mixture. You will get a fairly thick dough that will keep its shape.

  • Step 6

Roll into 1.5 inch balls. Press one side of cookie balls into a bowl of sprinkles and place the cookies sprinkle side up on a baking sheet. Cookies will not spread when baked. You should get roughly 48 cookies.
  • Step 7

Bake at 350 °F for 15-18 minutes until cookies are slightly brown on bottom.

  • Step 8

While the cookies cool, prepare the glaze.

  • Step 9

Combine all glaze ingredients in a bowl until smooth.

  • Step 10

Once cookies are completely cooled, drizzle the glaze over the cookies.
