Celebrating 2025 SJS Section Scholar‑Athlete Award Winners
Congratulations to the A. Dale Lacky & Clarke Coover Scholar-Athlete Award winners! These students represent some of the hardest working high school student-athletes within the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), demonstrating academic excellence, leadership, and good citizenship.
At the April 22nd Scholarship Awards Breakfast in Elk Grove, 45 students were awarded a minimum of $1,000 in scholarship funds by the Sac-Joaquin Section (see the full list of students below).
To qualify for this scholarship, students must be a graduating senior, have participated in at least one varsity sport for two years, displayed good citizenship via school and volunteer activities, and carry a 3.7 minimum unweighted GPA. Many of these students have been involved in honors classes and extracurricular activities, and even held jobs that helped their families throughout high school.
We’d also like to recognize this year’s six Sac-Joaquin Section Model Coaches. This award recognizes coaches who serve as positive role models, display leadership within the school and community, show character and live by the highest ethical standards across six core ethical values: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Good Citizenship (see the full list of coaches below).
Crystal Creamery has been a sponsor of CIF since 2012, providing both financial support for student athletes, and milk to fuel athletic performance and recovery.
