Salted Caramel Affogato

  • 1-2 scoops Crystal Vanilla ice cream
  • ¼ cup double espresso, coffee, or cold brew coffee
  • 2 tablespoons prepared salted caramel sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chopped dark chocolate, almonds, or hazelnuts
  • Pinch of sea salt

Salted Caramel Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons Crystal unsalted butter
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup Crystal heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla

  • Step 1

    Prepare the caramel sauce:
    In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add sugar and cream, stir constantly, just until mixture begins to bubble slightly (about 3 minutes). Remove from heat, whisk in sea salt and vanilla. Allow to cool sightly before transferring to an airtight container. Keeps in fridge for up to 2 weeks.

    Assemble the affogato:
    Place ice cream in a medium mug. Top with espresso, caramel, and chocolate. Sprinke with a pinch of sea salt. Serve and enjoy!
